Korean Vocabulary (Time) In Korean language, the time is knowns as 시간 (sigan) and you use the word 시 (si) to tell the hours and then you use the word 분 (bun) to tell the minutes. As the time is said in hours and minutes, in Korean language, time is denoted using the Native and Sino numbering system. The hours are represented using Native Korean numbering system i.e. 하나 (hana), 둘 (dul), 셋 ( set) and minutes are represented using Sino Korean numbering system i.e. 일 (il), 이 (i), 삼 (sam) 시 (si) is used specifically to tell the hour in time in Korean. Example: 1 o’clock = 1 시 -한시 (hansi) 7 o’clock = 7 시 -일곱시 (ilgopsi) Unlike hours, 분 (bun) is used to tell the minute in time in Korean.
