Korean Alphabets Vowels (Simple Vowels)
Here are the Korean alphabets. You have to learn vowels first. Vowels are easy to memorize. The vowels in Korean are divided into simple and compound vowels.
10 simple vowels + 11 compound vowels = 21 vowels
Here are the simple vowels.
ㅏ a
ㅑ ya
ㅓ eo
ㅕ yeo
ㅗ o
ㅛ yo
ㅜ u
ㅠ yu
ㅡ eu
ㅣ i
These are the simple vowels which you need to memorize. It’s just a start of learning Korean. Do keep memorizing it until you become familiar with all of them. You will be using it further in making the letters at than the words. Here the letters and words are known as blocks and syllables. Vowels are never written as they are above. It has to written with at least one of the consonants.

Here are the compound vowels. These vowels are the combination of two simple vowels.

ㅒ yae
ㅔ e
ㅖ ye
ㅘ wa
ㅙ wae
ㅚ oe
ㅝ wo
ㅞ we
ㅟ wi
ㅢ eui
These are the compound vowels. They are a bit difficult to memorize than the simple vowels. But don't worry you will you need to remember the sounds of them only. It will be memorized while you learn the words further. No need to get stuck to learning these compound vowels you can memorize it later while learning the words.
